Student enterprise and innovation
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to develop your enterprise and innovation skills alongside your studies when you join Kingston University.
In line with the Future Skills Programme and the wider Town House Strategy, we run in-curricular and extra-curricular projects that embed enterprise education and community engagement with partners, charities and businesses in a range of courses.
These real-world experiences form part of the Future Skills journey via the Explore and Apply modules of the course. Projects are handpicked to enhance your career prospects after graduation and support you in exploring new pathways.

Studio KT1 is Kingston University’s creative agency, where students get the chance to work on real projects for real clients and get paid for it.
From branding and illustration to digital campaigns and animation, students gain hands-on experience while building their portfolio and developing their professional skills.
Studio KT1 pays above London Living wage, credits the work and connects student with clients like BBC R&D, Canary Wharf Group, Cass Art and more.

Bright Ideas is Kingston University’s award-winning ideas competition, giving students the opportunity to articulate, develop and present their ideas.
The competition is open to all disciplines and is a platform to practice creativity, problem-solving, and clear communication – whether exploring a new concept, tackling a challenge or shaping a potential business idea.
Participants gain valuable feedback from experts and build the confidence to share their ideas with impact.
Ideas Accelerator is Kingston University’s one-day bootcamp designed to help students and graduates fast-track their business or self-employment ideas.
Through interactive sessions on mindset, validation, marketing and sales, participants gain the tools and confidence to take their ideas forward.
The day also provides opportunities to connect with like-minded peers and potential co-founders, while preparing participants to enter the Bright Ideas competition or take their first steps into self-employment.
The Fast Track Programme is Kingston University’s intensive start-up validation experience, designed for students and graduates ready to test and grow their ideas.
Over several weeks, participants commit to customer discovery, mentoring and practical business-building activities, gaining clarity on whether their idea is viable and worth pursuing.
By the end, founders have the validation, confidence and foundation to apply for The Nest.
The Nest is Kingston University’s 24-month growth programme for students and graduates who are ready to take their ideas further.
Members pitch for up to £10,000 in seed funding at the start of their journey and, whether funded or not, receive tailored mentoring, access to Kingston’s enterprise community and structured support for two years.
The Nest provides the space, guidance and resources to grow a sustainable business or freelance career, turning early traction into long-term success.
