Kingston Hill

The Kingston Business School building provides a home for Kingston Business School as well as modern teaching and learning spaces for everyone on campus.

The building incorporates many sustainable features including:

• rainwater harvesting
• a Sedum roof
• natural ventilation and low carbon energy use
• renewable energy generation through a ground source heat pump
• additional cycle stands.

The Nightingale Centre, located at our Kingston Hill campus, serves as the main library for business, education, health, music and social care students. It features a learning café for drinks and snacks, open access computers and several study areas including group learning rooms and bookable meeting pods. The library also houses a vinyl record collection with a record player available for use on the first floor, as well as dedicated Music Mac computers.

The 300-seat Lawley lecture theatre is modern, spacious and the perfect venue for getting large numbers of business and law students together.

As well as regular student lectures, it's also a popular space for seminars held by business professionals who make use of the facilities during vacation times.

The lecture theatre is fully equipped with multimedia facilities. There is disabled access and it is fitted with an induction loop system.

As well as lecture theatres and other teaching spaces, there's a wide range of practical facilities in the Frank Lampl building, including our clinical skills laboratories.

Our innovative clinical skills laboratories house all the equipment nursing and midwifery students need to simulate clinical practice, including clinical equipment and teaching mannequins. This gives students the chance to refine their skills before heading out into the real world.

Located in Kenry House, the Practice Learning Suite is a purpose-built facility where social work students have the opportunity to learn and to practise key social work skills. All pre-registration social work students are required to undertake 30 days learning practice skills at Kingston University. Social workers undertaking continuing professional development courses develop their assessment and intervention skills and other skills such as mentoring, teaching and providing reflective supervision.

Coombehurst House, a Regency mansion on Kingston Hill, is home to our music courses in the Department of Performing Arts, blending old and new architecture with spacious lawns.

Students have access to practice rooms, recording studios, mac labs, recording equipment, music software, pianos and instruments in Coombehurst House and Lodge. The Visconti Studio features an analogue/digital hybrid setup, including vintage recording equipment.

Eat Central at Kingston Hill is the ideal place to take a break from your studies, whether you're looking for a quick snack or a full meal. As the main undergraduate canteen, it's a popular meeting point for groups of friends.

Eat Central offers a range of hot and cold lunch items including cooked meals, salads and sandwiches. Freshly baked products, healthy snacks, speciality Fairtrade coffee, juices and soft drinks are available all day. Eat Central also features a small shop and a Costa Coffee.

Our students come from many different backgrounds, cultures and faiths. The University supports this diversity through its team of faith advisers.

The Faith and Spirituality Centre at Kingston Hill is located in Kenry House and features prayer rooms and washing facilities.

Cycle parking facilities and showers are available at this site.

Trains run regularly from London Waterloo to Norbiton and Kingston stations (four trains per hour midweek, journey times 25–33 minutes). Norbiton is in Travelcard Zone 5 and Kingston in Zone 6.

From Norbiton station:

• take the train to Norbiton
• leave the railway station and walk through the underpass to the main station entrance
• exit the station and cross Coombe Road
• either turn right and walk along Coombe Road to take the K3 bus (this is the shortest walking route) or carry straight over and walk up Wolverton Avenue until you reach Kingston Hill. Cross Kingston Hill and turn right to take the 85 or K3 bus or the KU1 or KU3 free University intersite bus service
• get off at the 'Kingston University' stop
• Kingston Hill campus is on the other side of the road

From Kingston station:

• take the train to Kingston
• leave the railway station via the main exit
• cross the lights to the left onto Cromwell Road (for the bus station)
• take the 85 or K3 bus or the KU1 or KU3 free University intersite bus service
• get off at the 'Kingston University' stop
• Kingston Hill campus is on the other side of the road

The K3 and 85 buses run along Kingston Hill and there are stops directly outside the campus. We also run an intersite bus service for students, staff and visitors. The KU1 and KU3 buses stop at this campus and link the campus with the Kingston and Surbiton mainline stations, other campuses and halls of residence.

We strongly recommend visitors use the excellent public transport links instead of driving.

The University has limited on-site parking facilities and prioritises staff during core working hours (Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm). Limited visitor parking is available, but must be pre-booked through the person you are visiting, as parking enforcement measures are in operation at all sites. Parking is provided on all sites for blue badge holders and there are docking bays for electric cars.
