Intersite bus at Kingston University
Students, staff and visitors can all benefit from our intersite bus service, running from Monday to Friday in term time only.
From 1 September 2026, our intersite University bus service will be managed by Falcon Coaches who will introduce a new fleet of fully electric buses, reflecting our strong commitment to our sustainability goals.
Daily tickets can be purchased via the Falcon Coaches app, ensuring that passengers pay no more than £2.20 a day, regardless of how many journeys they make. Those with eligible accessibility passes can use these to travel for free.
A new timetable, effective 1 September, can be accessed via the Falcon Coaches app, MyKingston or the KU Portal and further details can be found in our FAQs below. Please note, the roll-out of the new fleet will take place in two stages. In September, a fleet of fully electric red buses will provide the service for an interim period until the new permanent fleet takes over in October.

FAQs
Introducing a fare enables us to provide more frequent services at peak times, better meeting passengers' needs while continuing to reinvest in the service so that we can make further enhancements and ensure it is maintained into the future.
We have worked to keep the fare as low as possible and have ensured it is less than the Transport for London charge. We will continue to look at ways to minimise costs to users.
Passengers can purchase their daily tickets via the Falcon Coaches app and this will mean they pay no more than £2.20 a day, regardless of how many journeys they make.
Any student who finds themselves in financial difficulty should contact the Money Advice team who can provide advice, guidance and information about support that may be available to them based on their individual circumstances.
As well as offering a fully electric fleet of new buses, Falcon Coaches will provide additional buses and an increased service to better meet the needs of passengers. The charge will enable us to maintain and continue to enhance the service into the future.

- 461 – Addlestone to Kingston
- 514 / 515 – Weybridge to Kingston

- 715 – Guildford to Kingston
Reduced price tickets can be processed on board via contactless payment with the presentation of a Kingston University Student or Staff ID card.
The cheapest and most convenient way to pay for travel is via the Falcon Coaches app. Contactless payments are also accepted on board.
The flat fare of £1.10 includes journeys that require a change to complete travel between halls of residence and our campuses. The change must be completed within an hour of boarding and, if not using the Falcon Coaches app, passengers should alert the driver when they start their journey in order to be provided with a transfer ticket to continue their follow-on journey for free.
Students who will be living in halls of residence from September have been contacted directly and can email [email protected] if they wish to discuss their options, including alternative accommodation (subject to availability).

By moving away from our current hybrid vehicles to more environmentally sustainable buses, we are supporting cleaner air in the Kingston area and reducing carbon emissions, reflecting our strong commitment to our sustainability goals. This meets one of the objectives in University’s Travel Plan 2024-2029 – to improve the environmental credentials of Kingston University’s bus services by introducing an electric fleet.
The roll-out of the new fleet will take place in two stages. In September, a fleet of fully electric red buses will provide the service for an interim period until the new permanent Kingston University fleet takes over in October.
Current students and students who will be living in halls of residence next year were notified of these changes in June 2026.
In response to feedback from students who were not always able to board their chosen service during busy periods, we’re now able to offer a more frequent service at peak times to help ensure there is room for everyone to make use of it.
We have done everything we can to limit the cost while ensuring that we’re providing a service that meets the needs of our passengers, without them having to rely on TFL services.
