The complex application process involved input from staff across the organisation and was sponsored by Professor Edith Sim, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing.
Achieving accreditation demonstrates the University's inclusive working environment and commitment to equality. The award also supports research funding applications, which in future may require Athena SWAN endorsement.
Professor Julius Weinberg, Vice-Chancellor said: "I am delighted that Kingston has been awarded Athena SWAN Bronze status. This shows that we are serious about supporting diversity across the University. I look forward to our celebrating silver and gold status in the future."
