Sad news about Louise Shepherd, former alumni relations officer

Posted Monday 30 March 2015

Many of you will have met Louise Shepherd in her role as Kingston University alumni relations officer.

Louise left Kingston in autumn 2014 to begin a new and exciting chapter in her life. She planned to spend a year travelling around the world with her sister and another friend. Sadly, Louise died last week in a freak, natural accident while trekking in Bolivia.

Louise herself was a Kingston graduate, having studied for an MA in Museums, Galleries and the Creative Economy and graduated in 2010. After finishing her studies, Louise joined the Development, Alumni Relations and Events (DARE) department at Kingston as alumni relations officer co-ordinating a programme of communications and events for Kingston alumni in the UK and overseas.

Tributes to Louise have been pouring in. She had a real passion for life and love of people. As one member of staff said: "She was a beautiful young lady inside and out, and always a pleasure to work with". Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this sad time.

We are establishing a book of condolences for Louise's family. If you would like to add a message, please email alumni@kingston.ac.uk.
