From donning the iconic gown and mortarboard hat, to snapping selfies with friends and family on the steps of the Guildhall, graduation days are full of celebration and memories. And those moments have been made all the more special for one graduate, who shared the highlights of her graduation day in a behind the scenes exclusive for the Kingston University Snapchat account - fresh from celebrating a proposal from her partner.
As an international student, social media has been an ideal platform for Teshnee to keep in touch with friends and family back home. "I told all my friends and family at home in Mauritius and in London about my Snapchat experience - hopefully they enjoyed seeing all the fun behind the scenes from my graduation day," she said. "Taking part in the University's Snapchat story was great fun and something which I can look back on and cherish."
Along with securing consistent first class results over her four year sandwich course, the 22 year old has visited 20 European countries during her undergraduate years, as well as working part time for an accountancy firm. "I've been lucky enough to fulfil my passion for travelling whilst I've been at Kingston, as well as working part-time. It's all fit in well around the studying and the balance of study and life has been manageable," said Teshnee, who completed a year's work placement by assisting the KU Talent team with a variety of different roles.
Teshnee will be returning to the Kingston Hill campus later this year - where the School of Business and Law is based - to begin a Masters in Banking and Finance. First however, she is happy to celebrate the success of her first degree. "It's been a busy four years of making lovely new friends, adapting to a new environment and working hard. So I'm delighted to have secured First Class Honours and that my loved ones were there to share the special day with me."
