The Dean's ‘Thank You' Dinner for Kingston Business School Alumni Volunteers – June 2018

Posted Tuesday 25 September 2018

Kingston Business School held a ‘Thank You' dinner for alumni who have volunteered their time to enhance the student experience over the past academic year. The Dean, Professor Ron Tuninga, hosted the dinner and thanked alumni for their invaluable contribution to the Kingston Business School and wider University.

Alumni who attended the dinner had volunteered at Kingston in numerous ways, including mentoring, sharing career insights, in-curriculum guest speaking, re-accreditation visits and contributing to promotional activities for the University. We were also joined members of the Faculty Advisory Board and some of those involved in the Bright Ideas Enterprise Competition judging panel.

The evening began with a relaxed drinks reception on the Terrace to enjoy the wonderful summer's evening at Kingston Hill campus, accompanied by a trio of musicians, and was later followed by a three course meal.

Janice Larden-Price, Head of Alumni and Supporter Engagement, introduced the new ‘Alumni Champions' volunteering scheme which is coming into place later this year. The scheme aims to bring together alumni volunteers and formally recognise their role, alongside consolidating the volunteering opportunities across the University to make it easier to be involved.

In the last academic year over 150 alumni from Kingston Business School have volunteered in various different roles across the University. The dinner provided the opportunity for the Kingston Business School to show our appreciation to our alumni volunteers, and demonstrate how grateful we are for their contributions. Alumni have committed their time to our students in ways that will enhance their personal development and professional skills, and give our students confidence in their ability to reach their true potential.
