Three waiting rooms in the BIS Ministry building on London's Victoria Street will show work from the disciplines of illustration and animation (PDF), graphic design (PDF), fashion (PDF) and product design (PDF). The display will be enjoyed by the Department's VIP visitors including foreign ministers, CEOs and ambassadors.
It will showcase new forms of practice including collaborations across design, science, music and future thinking in sustainability and manufacturing. The group of graduates whose work will be on show demonstrates the cultural diversity of British design education, bringing together creative designers from across the globe.
Kingston graduates also designed, manufactured and curated the bespoke display shelving systems which features the creativity of emerging design from Kingston's graduating class of 2012. Launched in July 2012, the display will remain in the ministerial waiting rooms until the end of the year when it will be moved to Kingston University's Knights Park campus. BIS has worked with Kingston to develop this pilot project which they hope to roll out to a range of leading UK universities in 2013.
