Share your career experiences with our current students at events on campus

The University's careers and employability service holds some brilliant 'Spotlight' events to give students an overview of some of the different career paths available to them. The events are structured in such a way that students get to hear first-hand from industry professionals (like you!) about their career journey, as well as a practical element where they can put their interviewing skills into practice.

Hearing from industry professionals really helps students to see where their degree and skills can take them, and to hear real-life experiences. These events are designed to raise the aspirations of our students, as well as give them vital knowledge about career options.

The basic format of the events is in two parts:

  • Part 1: A facilitated industry-led panel discussion from professionals from a variety of roles within the fields listed below. The panel discussion lasts for about 45 minutes and is followed by a short Q&A session.
  • Part 2: Speed interviewing. Students get the opportunity to be interviewed, for three minutes, in an exciting, friendly environment. As a professional, you have the opportunity to meet and network with the students.

Please note that you don't need to work in recruitment to take part in the event – the value here comes from your own professional experience. Suggested interview questions will be provided.
