An Asian festival has kicked off a year-long programme of events celebrating diversity at Kingston University.
The Bollywood Bazaar and Fashion Show was staged by the Saheli Organisation and the Students' Union. The university's Equal Opportunities Officer Jan Stow believes the event gave students a greater appreciation of different cultures. "It's important to promote good relations between students from different backgrounds," she said.
"This event enabled staff and students to broaden their horizons and learn more about Asian culture."
The bazaar raised more than £600 for Kingston Can, Kingston Hospital's appeal for a new cancer unit.
