Sport science and nutrition courses

We're ranked number one in England and second in the UK for sport science (Guardian University Guide league tables 2020). The course also received 100% student satisfaction (National Student Survey 2018 and 2019).

Our students benefit from expert staff, real-world learning experiences and state-of-the-art facilities. You'll gain experience using the latest equipment and analysis techniques in our specialist exercise, physiology and biomechanics laboratories. You'll have opportunities to tailor your studies to your area of interest through a research project. Our sport science courses are endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES).

You'll learn alongside professional practitioners working at the cutting edge of the industry. This ensures our student's education is relevant and informed with the latest nutrition research and developments. We also have a specialist nutrition kitchen, which has been fitted with the latest equipment so you'll gain practical experience of working in an industry grade environment. Our nutrition courses are accredited by the Association of Nutrition (AfN). Once you graduate, you can apply for registration as an Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) without further evidence of competence.

Nutrition and Sport Science students have the opportunity to undertake paid work in industry or conduct a research project within a professional environment.

Many of our courses have an integrated foundation year or the option to undertake a placement year. Click on the course you're interested in below to find out more.
