Biography

Previously employed as an analyst in the Forensic Toxicology laboratory of LGC Forensics. I am experienced in the analysis of drugs of abuse in a forensic and analytical laboratory. My work in LGC has primarily focused on analysis of human matrix samples extracted by SPE for the presence of legal and illegal drugs of abuse. I have years of experience as a laboratory analyst utilising analytical techniques such as GC-MS, triple quad & GC-FID for the detection of alcohol, cannabinoids, amphetamines, opiates and benzodiazepine drug classes and the trouble-shooting and maintenance of our instruments. In addition to my analytical expertise I have also carried out several method validation projects for the detection of drugs and alcohol in human samples and was responsible for training of newer colleagues. I currently look after the Mass Spectrometry facility at Kingston University.
