About

I was initially a vet by trade but I developed a very strong interest in microbiology during my veterinary medicine course, I completed a master's degree in medical microbiology in London school of hygiene and tropical medicine and worked as research scientist in virology. I was awarded a PhD in Molecular virology Investigating virus/cell receptors interaction with cough receptors from Queens University of Belfast in 2012. I then moved to Qatar where I established the virology teaching lab in Qatar University, and I also taught medical microbiology and virology to Biomedical and pharmacy students for two years. I moved back to the UK in 2015 to take postdoctoral position at the Animal Health Trust and University of Cambridge on Equine Influenza vaccine. I then joined Kingston University in 2023 as a Microbiology lecturer and module lead for Microbial pathogenesis and control of infectious disease for students taking the Medical Microbiology route of the MSc Biomedical Science and MSc Biomedical Science with Management programmes.
