Mrs Michelle Boyce

About

I am a seconded lecturer within the faculty of Midwifery at Kingston University, London.

I completed my midwifery training at Kingston University and qualified in 2009. I have worked as a clinical midwife in a variety of roles within the NHS, including rotational clinical posts, labour ward coordinator and integrated team leader. My most recent role was as a Birth Centre Manager, providing and supporting others to provide evidence-based care for physiological birth. I also set up a successful continuity of carer, integrated team based within the Birth Centre, which provided an excellent service for low-risk women and their families.

In my role as midwifery lecturer, I aim is to use my knowledge and skills to help develop the new generation of midwives to become safe, autonomous and compassionate midwives. My main passion lies within promoting, protecting and celebrating the power of physiological birth.  I am currently supporting learning on the skills modules across the midwifery courses.
