Ms Ana Lagarto

About

I have recently joined the Midwifery team at Kingston University and I am looking forward to support students developing their knowledge and experience in midwifery.

I was born in Portugal and lived there until after I qualified as a nurse. Later, I did my Midwifery short course and worked mostly in South East London at different Trusts. I am very passionate about better preparation for parenthood during pregnancy, aiming to support parents in this so special and stressful moment of their lives. I have conducted research in Father Involvement in Pregnancy and Early Years.

During my clinical journey I have also worked with the Education Team to support my colleagues in their skills and clinical practice, as well as continuous training and development.

The next academic year (23/34) I will be supporting first year students developing their midwifery skills.
