Ms Kate Sutherland

About

I joined the Midwifery Department at Kingston University as a senior lecturer in June 2020. I am currently deputy Course Leader for the two year programme and year 1 module lead for Social and Political Context of Midwifery. I completed my midwifery training at Kingston University and qualified in 2010. I subsequently worked in a variety of clinical settings before becoming a Clinical Practice Facilitator, supporting students in clinical practice. It was in this role that I began teaching as an honorary lecturer and discovered a passion for teaching. This lead me to complete my Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education in 2015 and to subsequently obtain Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
