Study sociology

Our sociology courses offer a unique student experience by combining your learning and teaching with real-world impact. As well as being able to study sociology on its own, you can also combine the subject with criminology, human rights, international relations or psychology.

You'll be taught in practical and interactive lectures and seminars. You'll learn alongside professional practitioners working at the cutting edge of the industry. This ensures your education is relevant and informed with the latest research and developments.

Our courses explore the nature of society, human relationships and behaviour, studying issues around power and inequality, social change, conflict and development. You'll explore these ideas in real-world settings, including the chance to take a placement, and complete your own research project.

Many of our courses have an integrated foundation year or the option to undertake a placement year. Click on the course you're interested in below to find out more.
