Study education and teaching

We're ranked No.2 in the UK for education (Guardian University League table 2022). We've been providing courses in education and teacher training for more than 100 years and offer a wide range of degrees in specialist areas including early years, primary and special educational needs teaching. Choosing to study at Kingston will give your career the best possible start. You'll be able to earn as you learn, combining workplace learning with part-time study.

Early years

Our early years courses reflect the evolving need of the early years sector, ensuing you'll be kept up to date with the latest developments and initiatives. You'll develop your critical thinking and understanding whilst exploring theory and practical subjects through a range of learning experiences.

Primary

On our primary teaching course, you'll spend at least 120 days in school, developing your teaching skills with support from expert colleagues and you will gain Qualified Teacher Status. We have over 200 partnership schools to ensure you have excellent support and a diverse experience.

Special education needs

Our special educational needs and inclusive practice course will focus on areas such as removing barriers to participation, enabling inclusion within settings and in the community, effective transition between places, people and phases of education, and research and theories of learning. You'll have the opportunity to engage in collaborative working, sharing experiences with peers.
