Tickets for graduation ceremonies held by Kingston University

You must have a ticket if you want to attend a graduation ceremony. It might seem strange that you have to get tickets to your own graduation, but we need to know numbers to ensure there's enough space and facilities for everyone who wants to attend.

Cost of tickets

  • Graduate tickets: free of charge – but you need to book so we know you are attending your ceremony
  • Guest tickets: £27 per person (including VAT)

Graduate tickets

If you have not booked your place, it is now not possible to book it in advance, please come and see us at the Rose Theatre on the day of your ceremony 90 minutes before your ceremony starts so we can find you a seat.

Guest ticket sales on the day

Online ticket sales have now closed and can no longer be purchased in advance.

If your ceremony has guest tickets available to purchase on the day of your ceremony, they will be £27 (card only) and sold at the information desk at the Rose Theatre, 90 minutes before each ceremony starts, on a first-come, first-served basis - some ceremonies have limited availability and tickets may run out.

You are advised not to make any travel or accommodation arrangements until you have received your invitation email and are sure you are eligible to attend your ceremony.

How to book your tickets

Please note: Online booking and ticket sales have now closed.

When you have received your invitation email from the graduations team, confirming the date and time of your graduation ceremony, you can log in to OSIS to book your own place and up to two guest tickets.

When ordering your tickets via OSIS, you'll be asked for your:

You must provide details of any access requirements for you and/or your guests, when you are booking. If we don't know your requirements in advance, we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to accommodate them on the day.

Please note: By booking tickets to a graduation ceremony, you agree to adhere to the University's graduation ceremony policies terms and conditions.

Confirming your ticket order

You should receive two email confirmations, when you book your tickets:

  • payment confirmation;
  • booking confirmation with further information about your graduation ceremony.

If you don't receive a confirmation email, it might be that the booking process wasn't completed. Please log back into OSIS to check your booking.

If you are at all unsure and have any queries, please tell us immediately by completing our online query form.

Guest tickets

Guest tickets cost £27 each. You can buy two guest tickets initially.

Extra guest tickets in advance

Extra guest tickets are no longer available to purchase in advance.

Extra guest tickets on the day

If there are guests tickets left, they will be available to purchase on the day of your ceremony. Any remaining tickets will be sold 90 minutes before the ceremony start time, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: We cannot guarantee that extra guest tickets will be available to purchase on the day.

Children

You can bring children, but the ceremony can last for up to an hour and a quarter, so it's not advisable to bring very young children.

Seating

Children cannot sit with graduates; they must sit with guests. We ask that they're taken out of the auditorium if they disrupt the ceremony.

Tickets

Children older than three years will need a ticket (priced £27) as they need to have their own seat.

Children younger than three years (i.e. a child aged two years and 11 months) can have a free ticket. The free ticket will be available from the ticket collection desk on the day of the ceremony.

Buggies and pushchairs

There is no space in the Rose Theatre auditorium for buggies and pushchairs, so we ask that they are left at home or in the Theatre's foyer during the ceremony (on the day, please ask a member of staff where they can be left).

Graduation Support Fund

Students who are facing financial hardship can submit an application to the Graduation Support Fund to receive up to two guest tickets and gown hire free of charge (for the graduation day). Applications to the Graduation Support Fund have closed and all funds have been allocated.

Refunds

We can only offer a refund if you do not achieve your award in time for your ceremony.

Guest tickets are non-refundable, so please do not purchase any guest tickets you may not require, as we cannot offer a refund in any other circumstances.

The University cannot be held liable for any costs incurred for travel or accommodation arrangements made by graduates or guests under any circumstances.

If you have already ordered your gown but can no longer attend the ceremony, read our gowns page to find out about getting a refund from our gowning supplier.
