Catching up with... CK Bhupesh

When were you at Kingston and what did you study?

CK Bhupesh I studied a masters in International Business Management and graduated in 2012 from Kingston.

Why did you choose Kingston?

Kingston was one of the few choices I had to pursue my higher studies in London. The best part about Kingston is that it is one of the topmost young universities which gives it a perfect blend of the traditional approach and a contemporary outlook towards work and education. European accreditations for the Business School were another motivating factor for choosing Kingston as my place to study.

What do you remember about your time at Kingston? In three words.

Bonding. Growing. Exploring.

Have you been back to Kingston since graduating? If so, what for?

I have not been physically back to the University yet but I often find myself reminiscing the times I spent there. You see, one might take the student out of Kingston, but it is impossible to take Kingston out of the student.

Are you still in touch with anyone from your Kingston days?

Oh! I surely am very much in touch with most of my batch-mates worldwide. The friends I made at Kingston define my personality to some extent. We connect with each other on a regular basis and try and meet as often as possible.

What did you expect to do after graduating? Are you still doing that now?

I expected to stay back and work in London after my graduation. However, life had some better plans for me than I had for myself. I am back to my home country, serving as Managing Director to one of the topmost International Schools in the region, of which I am extremely proud. I have a better purpose and a better sense of living than I have ever had.

What's your greatest achievement?

Academically, being awarded the Scholarship at the start and the Dean's Prize at the end of my postgraduate course. And, on the work front, setting an excellent work culture where everyone loves their job, has been my greatest achievement.

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

Dream and dream big. Keep moving and work hard. More than anything, find joy in whatever you do. You can take on the world if you are at peace with yourself.

What last made you laugh?

Just this morning whilst starting for work, my little niece stopped me and asked me to play with her. Amidst the rush and hurry, I dropped everything aside and had the best 20 minutes I could with her. She is the one who makes me laugh the most.

What's your ideal weekend?

An ideal weekend would be spending some quality time with my little niece and nephew, take them out to the park, play with them, talk to them and connect them more to nature. When they are not around, I spend time reconnecting with old friends, cooking and meditating.

Tell us something no one would guess about you

I am a simple and an extremely spiritual person with few expectations out of life, believe in sacrifices and would rather spend my life making people who love me, happy.
