This session will look at challenges growing businesses face in using their data efficiently. It will outline the connection between organisational data and business strategy and demonstrate how leveraging this connection efficiently could inform your day-to-day operations and long term business planning.

As a result of this session you will be able to:

• understand how to identify the useful data your organisation generates in its daily routine;
• map out how to use that data to achieve your short and long-term business goals; and
• enhance your capability for efficient business planning.

About the speaker

Dr Serhiy Kovela is a senior lecturer in accounting, finance and informatics at Kingston University. He obtained his masters in electrical engineering and PhD in computer science from Lviv National Polytechnic University and his MBA from Kingston University. Since 2003 he has taught a variety of business and IT disciplines including information systems design, strategic project management and management consultancy, both in the UK and overseas. Serhiy also has broad experience delivering business software projects to domestic and international clients both as a developer and project manager. As a practitioner he helps organisations optimise their business through structured and disciplined approach to information management and business planning.
