Join us at this introductory two-day workshop to the Bayley III, which assesses developmental functioning for infants and young children aged from 1 month to 42 months. The training is interactive and will introduce course participants to the Bayley III and includes both video case studies and ‘live' demonstrations with a young child. Participants will learn how to administer and score the Cognitive, Language and Motor scales as well as the Social Emotional and Adaptive Behaviour Scales. However additional practice in administering the test items will be required after the training in order for examiners to become fully competent Bayley testers.
The workshop will be presented by the UK Bayley trainer - Betty Hutchon - Consultant and Neurodevelopmental Therapist, University College Hospital, London and Head of Paediatric Occupational Therapy at Royal Free Hospital, London. Betty has worked extensively with the test publishers providing training on the previous edition of the Bayley and subsequently she worked with the US team as a consultant in the revision to produce the Bayley III.
This workshop would be ideal for community and general paediatricians, neonatologists, paediatric trainees, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, researchers and any health professional involved in the detailed developmental assessment of infants and young children.
On completion of the two day workshop participants will be able to administer and score the Bayley III, chart a child's progress using Bayley III, understand the constructs upon which the Bayley III is based and interpret and communicate outcomes from Bayley III.
Please note as the complete test kit (which includes the manual) is needed to administer the Bayley, the manual is not provided as part of this training. Whilst it is not necessary to have a Bayley kit prior to attending this training it is advisable to have the complete kit with manual available as soon as possible after the training in order to practice administration.
Booking is essential to attend this event.
