Moses' story

For Kingston alumnus Moses Sangobiyi, American Football was the first thing he was good at. From a young age he had found his calling, and he spent more than ten years dedicated to the game. He represented Team GB, captained the National Champions and received a scholarship from the USA.

Moses' dream was to play in the NFL, and in 2014, he was delighted to be invited to take part in the NFL trials. However Moses' world came crashing down when he wasn't selected for the next round.

Moses knew he had to learn from this, and when approached by Chelsea Football Club to lead one of their community programmes, he was delighted to find he could apply the skills he'd acquired through American Football to a different field. The programme was a success and led to further mentoring work nationwide with Premier League clubs.

Moses has since set up a mentoring programme with Chelsea FC that works with disadvantaged young people in the UK and Cape Town, South Africa. So far they have mentored over 150 young people, 30 professional athletes and have been asked to share their story with schools, corporates, sports and community organisations.

Moses founded The Successful Failure, a platform that curates the journeys of those who have turned their failures into a catalyst of success.

Join us for an afternoon of workshops, panel discussions and motivational talks as we divulge the secrets of being a 'Successful Failure'.
