Integrity Research Group seminar series: Reporting on non-financial information: an effective step toward Corporate Social Responsibility?

In the last years, International Organizations and National States increasingly addressed their political attention to the development and promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility ("CSR").

While initially such political action was constituted by soft law instruments, nowadays pressure of international and national authorities is exercised by way of the adoption and enactment of mandatory law provisions.

This different approach stimulates law scholars and practitioners to think about the role of enterprises and undertakings in the modern society, their nature and institutional purpose and to what extent the recent legislative efforts effectively change the approach of companies and enterprises and move them towards responsible behaviours.

From this perspective, Dr. Marco Cristiano Petrassi shall take into particular consideration the recent provisions issued by the European Union and its members on the reporting of non-financial information and will verify the benefits and limits of such reports.

Dr. Marco Cristiano Petrassi is an Italian qualified lawyer. After having gained a PhD in private law at Università Roma Tre, he gradually moved his professional and academic interests towards commercial and corporate law.

He was adjunct professor at the Faculty of Economics of the UCSC of Piacenza and instructor of Private Law at the Faculty of Law at the UCSC of Milan. He is a member of the corporate department of the SZA law firm of Milan.
