There is widespread public sense that mainstream politics and economics have left too many people behind. This is the common thread connecting the current political upheavals in the US, Britain and elsewhere.
In three free-standing events, this discussion series looks at key dimensions of the disconnection and distrust. In each session, an academic expert reflects on how the disconnection has happened; and a leading politician opens a discussion of what can be done to rebuild connections and trust. Our objective is to advance from analysis to solutions.
This discussion features Dr Rex McKenzie, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Kingston University, and the Rt Hon Sir Vince Cable MP.
Refreshments available from 5.30pm.
This event is free and unticketed.
