Lecture: Why economics is instrumental in helping to define business strategy
The talk will discuss how "economics", in particular economic data, provides insights into the development of specific strategies that companies may want to adopt. It will demonstrate that economics, in its various forms pervades into all strategic decisions taken by firms both implicitly and explicitly. Strategic decisions based on a longer term outlook require an understanding of the wider economic environment, including how demand and supply for products and services offered might change over that period, to ensure that the strategy to be adopted is the correct one for the business.
