Chair: Prof Irene Tuffrey-Wijne
We had to cancel our conference in Cardiff, so instead, we have asked the keynote speakers to give a short presentation via this webinar. Their talks will be followed by a Q&A session.
Speakers include:
Dr Kathryn Mannix, Consultant in Palliative Medicine; author of "With the End in Mind"
With the End in Mind: making friends with death
Baroness Ilora Finlay, Consultant in Palliative Medicine, Cardiff; Chair of the National Mental Capacity Forum
Making the Mental Capacity Act work for those who most need it
Prof Irene Tuffrey-Wijne, Chair of the PCPLD Network; Professor of Intellectual Disability & Palliative Care, Kingston & St George's University of London
Planning ahead for the end of life with people with learning disabilities
This webinar is free of charge and open to anyone. It will also be recorded and made freely available online afterwards.
The webinar will be of particular interest to anyone who is involved in supporting people with learning disabilities who are reaching the end of life, and those who are bereaved. That includes families, carers, health and social care staff, service providers and commissioners. People with learning disabilities are also warmly invited to attend, although not all of the talks or slides will be in accessible format.
Please note: If you register for the webinar, you will receive a joining link about a week before the event
Booking is essential to attend this event.
