The KU Big Read: An Interview with Emily Maitlis

This event is now fully booked. Please email kubigread@kingston.ac.uk to be added to a waiting list and/or to request a digital copy of Airhead. Limited supplies of Airhead paperbacks are available at campus reception desks and libraries upon request.

Emily Maitlis, author of the 6th Kingston University Big Read choice, is joining the Kingston community in an online event to talk about her book Airhead and to answer questions. Tickets are free and open to everyone, including those outside the university. However, do please book in advance to ensure that you are sent the link to the online meeting room in time.

After an introduction by Professor Alison Baverstock, Director of the KU Big Read, Kingston students will interview Emily and there will be an opportunity to put your questions to her.

Emily Maitlis joined the BBC in 2001 and last year became the lead anchor of Newsnight's first ever all-female team. Her accolades include 2017 Broadcast Journalist of the year at the London Press Club Awards, and Network Presenter of the Year at the RTS Television Journalism Awards in both 2019 and 2020. Airhead is her first book and gives a behind-the-scenes look at the ‘imperfect art of making news.'

Please use #KuBigRead to talk about the event and the book!
