Global Citizenship Programme Launch

The Programme will help participants around the world to develop skills for global citizenship and empower them to create a positive impact in their lives, communities and businesses around the world.

It is free to attend and open to all students and recent graduates (last 3 years) from KBS and partner institutions around the world. The online joining link will be emailed to you the day before the event, and you must register by Monday 15th March.

  • Jonathan Coburn, Director, Social Shifters
  • Peter Pihlman Pederson, co-founder of open-seneca
  • Charlie Dorman, Director, Connection Crew
  • Professor Audley Genus, Associate Dean, Enterprise and Innovation, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences
  • Nickala Torkington, the Co-founder of Flourish Together CIC
  • Victoria Ijeh, CEO, Iconic Steps

Aims of the programme:

  • Help participants to tackle some of the major global challenges and develop an understanding on a range of global issues;
  • Provide participants with an opportunity to transform their ideas into sustainable social enterprises;
  • Support participants to engage in interdisciplinary learning experiences and develop skills for global citizenship
  • Help participants to discover how to apply skills they gain as a global citizen in their future career

The participants will have an opportunity to:

  • hear from experts on global issues
  • engage with external organisations and social enterprises
  • work on live group projects

The structure of the event (subject to change):

  • Discussion panel around current challenges and opportunities
  • Workshop to support activities on the day
  • Mini-hackathon - working on real life case studies
  • Reflection and close
