Nudge or push? The use of behavioural science in local authorities and potential implications for social work

A FREE social work webinar , hosted online this autumn by the Department of Social Work and Social Care

Please note: this event will be held online via Zoom. A joining link will be sent closer to the event date and after registration.

Insights from behavioural science - which include behavioural models and the well-known 'nudge theory' - have become increasingly influential in policy and government over the past decade. However, there has been relatively little discussion of its use within local authorities and the implications for services such as adult and children's social care.

In this thought-provoking seminar, Dr Antonopoulou will present findings from an exploratory study carried out by researchers at University College, London, which examined the use of behavioural science in local authorities and will consider its potential implications for statutory social services.
