Please join us online for an intriguing talk about how 'Social Media' is changing the world around us for better or for worse.
The main character of 'The Gravity of Us' by KU Big Read author Phil Stamper, builds his online following in order to get his career going – and online connectivity plays a key role in the plot. It relates to viral videos, journalism, celebrities and vlogging. We will discuss how much online communication is good, and how to keep an online presence that also preserves some privacy.
The event will feature Victoria Scott, journalist for more than two decades, working for outlets including the BBC, Al Jazeera and the Telegraph, lecturer of the BA and MA Journalism courses at Kingston and author of the novels Patience and Grace. She will be joined by Dr Melissa Oldham from the Department of Behavioural Science and Health at UCL who will talk about the psychological and brain related aspects of social media involvement.
Booking is essential to attend this event.
