A school governor role also offers fantastic professional development opportunities. Becoming a school governor offers you the chance to apply your knowledge and enthusiasm in the challenging environment of school management.

Governors for Schools

Governors for Schools is a national education charity that finds, places, and supports skilled volunteers as governors on school and academy boards. They work with schools and volunteers across England to improve education for children and young people through effective governance.

Kingston University Alumni have partnered with Governors for Schools who provide a free governor recruitment service for volunteers and schools across the country. They work on a skills-based matching system and will put you in contact with schools in your local area who are most in need of the skills and experience you bring. They have dedicated Partnership Managers to manage the process and help you settle into the role with additional free training and learning opportunities.

Booking is essential to attend this event.
