New Knowledge Transfer Partnership project with software developer in investment management sector

Posted Thursday 28 August 2014

Kingston University has been awarded £145,000 for a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Factbook Limited, an independent software developer and vendor based in New Malden. The company develops and markets business software solutions to the investment management sector in the UK and globally.

The KTP is with the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing and recruitment is underway for a talented graduate to work on the project.

The main objective of the partnership is to expand Factbook's market growth by improving the company's development capability and, in particular, its high-performance smart device apps. Dr Souheil Khaddaj and Dr Darrel Greenhill from the School of Computing & Information Systems will provide the expertise for the design and implementation of an adaptable technology strategy that meets the requirements of a fast evolving industry.

KTP is one of Europe's largest graduate recruitment programmes and involves a three-way project between a graduate, an organisation and a university. The aim is to transfer knowledge from the university to the company to help improve products, services or business processes. Approximately 60 per cent of the project costs for an SME is funded by the government.
