Research project: The Efficacy of ketogenic diets in health and performance

Abstract

This study will assess the efficacy of a 14-week ketogenic diet on the performance of an elite professional cricketer and golfer. Markers to be evaluated will include body composition, markers of skill performance, cognitive performance and brain function.

This study will also evaluate the impact of a 6-month ketogenic diet on markers of metabolic health in individuals with metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. Markers to be assessed will include blood glucose, lipid profiles, cholesterol profiles, body mass, blood pressure and insulin resistance.

Biography

I am a performance Nutritionist specialising in athletic performance and weight management. I have a nutritional consultancy business and am the performance nutritionist for 2 professional sports clubs.
