Research project: Exploring Enhanced Understandings of Punjab Police Criminal Investigation on Unsolved Homicides in Pakistan Using Developments in Science, Technology and investigative Techniques

Abstract

Cold Homicides are those murder cases that are unsolved due to the lack of investigative leads and where families of victim are waiting for justice and offenders feel that they are successfully escaped from detection. There are huge number of unsolved murders that are waiting for detectives to unlock them in Punjab but due to the lack of detective skills, they are still unsolved. The exact figure is not known how many cases gone cold historically in Punjab and Punjab police do not possess any data in compile form. The question of the research is despite developments in science, technology and investigative skills why homicides cases  go cold  in Punjab and what are the obstacles that stands in the way of  unlocking cold homicides? To answer the research question, an extensive literature review, empirical and ethnographic study will be conducted using quantitative research method.

Biography

I have spent number of years to learn practical applications of science, technology and detective skills in different jurisdiction and compare them with the contemporary policing practices in Punjab Pakistan. I am now developing new model on cold homicides where I will test that model how to unlock  unsolved murder cases in light of developments in forensic science, intelligence input and investigative skills. After the completion of my doctoral research, I have plan to join police where I can apply my detective skills to unlock decades old cold homicides.
