Farooq is a Chartered Management Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant who sits on the board of an NFP as its finance director. He has also serves in an advisory role for another global organisation for the harmonisation of the accounting practices of its international operations which are spread in several dozen countries. Farooq's industry experience includes roles at Fidelity International as Fund Accountant and RSI International (formerly Baker Tilly accountants) in the audit function. In addition to having taught Management Accounting, Financial Reporting Disclosure and Investor Relations at the postgraduate level at the London School of Economics (LSE) and Valuation and Securities Analysis course at their summer school, Farooq has also lectured accountancy for ACCA and CIMA professional qualifications. He has served as the secretary of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) SEAG. He has been receiving prestigious academic teaching and learning awards for three consecutive years at Kingston University. These awards include Lecturer of the year, Best use of technology, Personal tutor award and university-wide Personal Support award.
