Dr Farooq Mahmood

About

Dr Farooq Mahmood is a Senior Lecturer in the department of Accounting and has been lecturing at the Business School since September 2014. He is a Chartered Management Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, who has served as Finance Director of an NFP and in an advisory role for another global organisation for the harmonisation of its global accounting practices in several dozen countries. Farooq's industry experience includes roles at Fidelity (Investments) International as Fund Accountant and RSM International (formerly Baker Tilly accountants) in its audit function. Farooq has also been a lecturer for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualifications. In addition, he has been lecturing at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a Guest teacher. Farooq has also served as the secretary of British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) SEAG. He has been receiving prestigious academic teaching and learning awards for four consecutive years at Kingston University. These awards include Lecturer of the year, Best lecturer, Best use of technology, Personal tutor award and university-wide Personal Support award.
