After studying Biophysics in St-Petersburg, Russia, I joined the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Hamburg Outstation, Germany) for a PhD in Structural Biology. In 2006 I moved to Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA) as a postdoctoral fellow and in 2009 I was awarded a Human Frontier postdoctoral fellowship for a structural biology project to work at the Institute of Cancer Research (London, UK). 2014-2019 I have been working at University of Oxford, UK and combining research and teaching.
I have joined Kingston University in 2020. I teach on a range of Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences and Biological Science courses.
My current research interests focus on the use of structural biology approaches to investigate mechanisms underlying disease (neurodegenerative and cardiovascular) and to study bacterial pathogenesis. In addition, I am interested in pedagogical development.
