Miss Caroline Alexander

About

I have been working in the Department of Fashion for three years and in the Department of Critical and Historical Studies, since 2006, as a Senior Lecturer teaching both fashion design and fashion history and theory. My current role is as Level 4 Year Leader on the BA Fashion. I take an integrated approach to the teaching the practice of fashion design, history and theory within the studio environment. My research interests are in 20th century fashion design as well as the social history of fashion consumption and production. In addition, I am responsible for managing the Benenden Fashion Archive, a collection of men's and women's wear spanning the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, situated in the Department of Fashion. This is a research resource which is available to students and staff across the Faculty for research purposes - please contact me for more information.
