I am the Course Lead for MSc/PGDip/PGCert Healthcare Practice and Module Leader for Anaesthetic Practice and Theatre Practice. I have extensive clinical experience within the perioperative environment prior to moving to the academic role. I have strong passion in both teaching and my area of expertise as I am also practicing in anaesthetics. Besides Programme and Module Leadership, I teach on the Foundation Degree for Nursing Associates and have personal tutor responsibility, and I supervise MSc students on their research projects. I am committed to teaching excellence and supporting learners through their journey at the university.
Extensive experience in learning and teaching in both CPD and undergraduate nursing courses. Have experience in the development and design of curriculum and both internal and external validation of courses.
I am currently undertaking a PhD study. I have collaborated with international colleagues on a research study with a small group of international students on their experience of a 10-day workshop on patient safety in Hiroshima, Japan in 2018.
As part of my MSc study, I undertook a mixed methods study exploring the role of the Associate Practitioners and its impact on practice area. My study was subsequently presented at a World Nursing Conference in 2014 in Singapore and also at the Faculty conference.
