Ms Maïa-Laura Ibsen

About

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Kingston University, as well as the Director of the Student Academic Success Centre (SASC) for the Faculty. My first degree was in Geography and Mathematics at King's College London, which was then followed by an MPhil in landslide and climatic change research. This research then continued when I first joined Kingston University in 1996 within a European project. From 2001 to 2005, I was a Research Associate at Florence University, Italy, on a European exchange carrying out landslide research.

Since my return to Kingston University my interests have also included academic study skills and I initiated a success centre for students to offer them a service to improve their skills. From 2006 I have been responsible for the day to day organisation, development and evaluation of this service.
