Soumya Singh

About

Soumya is a versatile people leader with extensive leadership and management experience gained at a number of high-profile organisations in the UK. She is currently the Deputy Director of People at Smart Energy GB, UK's national campaign for the smart meter roll-out, where she is part of the senior leadership team.

Soumya's distinguished experience is a blend of leadership and day-to-day management. It extends across public, private and charity sectors with organisations from marketing, science & technology and professional services. She has had the privilege to work for a number of prestigious organisations including The Royal Society, UK's national academy of science. Soumya's diverse experience, her genuine passion for people management and her commercial acumen to deliver tangible results are her biggest strengths.

Soumya's interests go beyond her day job. She holds a number of board positions at not-for-profit and commercial organisations. She is a trustee and chair of human resources and organisational design (HROD) committee at Anti-Slavery International, a leading international human rights charity. She is a trustee at the Independent FilmTrust and serves as Director of IFT Studios.

Soumya is committed to raising awareness on unconscious bias and stereotypes and actively champions principles of ‘diversity and inclusion by design' to help remove barriers so that people can offer their best to the careers and the organisations they have chosen to work for.

Teaching and learning

I have been associated with Kingston University since 2016, having delivered HRM, Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I also delivered a Talent Acquisition module in Moscow for Ranepa University (through Kingston University).
