Equality

The University is committed to maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere, based on respect for people's differences while showing commitment to challenging and preventing racism and discrimination.

Initiatives to promote diversity and race equality include:

  • providing specific training for race equality and diversity;
  • mentoring schemes for ethnic minority staff and students;
  • a 'quiet room', which students and staff can use for daily prayer and religious observance; and
  • new policies dealing with disability, race, sexual orientation and diversity.
