The Centre for Research on Employment, Skills & Society (CRESS) comprises a multi-disciplinary team of researchers with backgrounds in economics, psychology, human resource management, organisational behaviour and industrial relations.

This seminar on human resource management and recession features guest speaker Stewart Johnstone, Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations at Newcastle University Business School. Prior to joining Newcastle, he worked at the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University. His research and teaching activities focus upon the management of work and people. He has published in top-rated journals including Journal of Business Venturing, British Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Journal and International Journal of Operations and Production Management.
