Integrity Research Group seminar series: Italy and Anti-Corruption Policies - The Odd Couple?

Avv Simone Zancani (Simonetti Law Firm, Venice) will draw an outline of Italian anti-corruption law. Simone will highlight the most recent initiatives and reforms also increasing the harshness of penal legislation. The results, however, do not seem to match the expectations of Italian lawmakers. Simone will try to investigate the reasons for the failures of such initiatives, also drawing upon his practical experience.

Avv Simone Zancani is a qualified barrister ("Avvocato") at the Italian bar, practicing at the Studio Legale Simonetti in Venice. His main practice areas include criminal law, company law and insolvency law. Simone has served for various years as a member of the National Direction of the Union of the Italian Criminal Chambers (UCPI) and for years he has been editor of the European Law Observatory. He has also collaborated with the University of Padua and he is the author of several legal publications.
