Transforming lives

Transforming lives: teaching and learning beyond the disciplines showcases the process and progress of a series of exploratory creative workshops delivered to Foundation Pharmacy students at Kingston University from January - March 2024 as part of their PY3001 and PY3002 modules. The workshops offered the opportunity for co-teaching, bringing together colleagues from the faculties of HSSCE and KSA, and for students to experience different approaches to learning by introducing them to a range of methods as a means of enhancing engagement with key topics within their foundation learning journey.

The project was extended to MPharmacy and MA Illustration students as a co-curricular opportunity, with each cohort experiencing an enriching and though-provoking field trip to the Hunterian Museum. Their visit provided them with the space to consider and reflect upon themes of equity and inclusivity in health and disease, inspiring and informing the work displayed within the exhibition.

Transforming lives: teaching and learning beyond the disciplines is a collaborative exhibition delivered in partnership with the Hunterian Museum and The Physiological Society. It interrogates the notion of art as a tool for science, and includes quotations from podcast interviews with Ole Petersen, Yasmin Crawford and Edward Bloomer whose work is informed by the transformative potential of science and art.
