The talk will examine how one can maintain a holistic and wholesome inner life in an ever changing and dynamic external environment.

Speaker

Dr. Sunder Iyer PhD
Teacher of Yoga, Founder of Kaivalya Yoga Gurukulam (KYG) Inc USA

Since the age of 10, Dr. Sunder Iyer has been devoted to the practice and teachings of Yoga. During his youth, he had the incredible opportunity to spend over 15 transformative years at the ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Under his guidance, he learnt the profound philosophy of Yoga and experienced traditional yogic methods and techniques from masters who hailed from esteemed schools in India, Nepal, and Tibet.

Alongside his passion for Yoga, he pursued his studies and earned a PhD in Banking and Finance. Additionally, he delved into ancient Sanskrit texts and explored the yogic approaches of different schools in India. In 1997, he was awarded an M.D. in Alternative Medicine from the Open International University of Sri Lanka. He also had the privilege of being an ordained Ecumenical Minister by the Ecumenical Ministry for Unity of Religions in Ojai, California. This ordination allows him to actively engage in speaking engagements and conduct programs on the philosophy of ONENESS throughout the United States and Canada.

In 2018, Dr. Sunder Iyer relinquished his professional corporate career to devote himself fully to teaching traditional yoga principles rooted in Sanathana Dharma, a mission he considers his life's work. Along with his wife Maya, who is an expert in holistic nutrition, he formed the Kaivalya Yoga Gurukulam (KYG) USA Inc, a non-profit organization, focused on spreading the ancient teachings and transformative powers of Yoga and Vedanta for Human Advancement. KYG conducts online and onsite programs that create a comprehensive experience which embraces wellness in all aspects of life.
