The course is aimed at people looking to improve their basic photography skills, as well as offering an introduction to digital imaging.
The course covers the very basics of digital photography including composition techniques. You will be shown practical demonstrations as how to use all the functions on your digital camera, how to avoid the pitfalls, and how to correct and enhance your digital pictures on the computer. Whilst the course will be studio-based there will be trips out for location shooting. During the course you will be given project briefs that you will have to interpret process and edit to practice the skills you are learning. You will also be given an intensive course in Photoshop (beginners–intermediate), with the opportunity to manipulate your own photographs using the University's comprehensive digital imaging facilities. Reviewed throughout the week, on a one-one basis with a group crit. at the end. We will explain the technology and reasoning behind digital photography and introduce you to the processes involved in web publishing.
Participants will be expected to bring their own digital cameras.
