Why do this course?

Kingston University is recognised as one of the best places in the world to study Fashion with our degree programme ranked second in the Business of Fashion's Global Fashion School Ranking 2016 and second in The Guardian's fashion and textiles subject league 2018.

Kingston School of Art offers an exciting and varied summer school programme for those interested in fashion design in one of the Fashion capitals of the world including taught classes, field visits to London shops, vintage stores, exhibitions and designer studio.

    • Talk in Museum study space with curator. Sketching in Museum

  • AM - visit to museum
      PM - Outlet designer clothes/accessories shopping centre visit
    Week 2  
    Monday
    • Studio day - day of designing based on London research
    Tuesday
  • AM - Visit to fashion/art exhibition
      PM - Visit to Victoria and Albert Museum
     Wednesday
    • Studio - review of trip and workshop day 
     Thursday
    • Studio - review of trip and workshop day 
     Friday
  • Studio project and final exhibition of work
      Presentation of certificates 


    What will you take away?

    By the end of this intensive two-week taster course you will have:

    1. A good understanding of the career opportunities that exist in the world of fashion and what the various job roles involve on a day-to-day basis.

    2. Practical insights into the careers associated with the world of fashion.

    3. Knowledge and understanding about what it means to work in the world of fashion and the skills needed to do so.

    Each student will also be given a certificate of attendance from Kingston University.

As an educational institution fees for our open short courses do not attract VAT.
