About

My clinical background is in Paediatric Intensive Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH). I have also worked within the Student Practice Facilitator Team at GOSH, supporting students on clinical placement before joining Higher Education at Kingston University in March 2022.

I currently teach on the BSc Children and Young People's Nursing programme and the Nursing Associate programme across various modules including skills and simulation. I am the Practice Placement Lead for Epsom and St Hellier Hospital and link lecturer at St George's Hospital. 

I currently hold HEA fellowship and I am working towards the Senior Fellowship.

I lead two BSc modules:

1. First year module - Introduction to Children and Young People's Nursing. This module is first field specific module which includes, child development, communication, Child and Family Centred Care, the importance of play and an introduction to law and ethics. This module also incorporates skills, simulation and clinical placements. 

2. Third Year module - Safe and Effective Care within Children's Nursing. This module is the first module of the final year and includes, duty of candour, risk assessment and analysis, audits and change theory.

I am a personal tutor for the BSc Children's Nursing September 2023 cohort and I am the link lecturer for St George's Hospital.

Leadership and management

 I am the Practice Placement Lead for Epsom and St Hellier Hospital across all four fields of nursing, including Nursing Associates. 

University responsibilities

  • To work in partnership with practice clinical leads/staff and the Link Lecturer to provide support for students, practice supervisors/assessors and practice teachers/practice educators within designated practice areas and if required, across the Trust/Organisations.
  • Ensure through Educational Quality Review (Practice Placement Audit), student/practice partner evaluation and practice supervisors/assessor resource that all practice learning environments meet the relevant Nursing and Midwifery programme standards and Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (2018).
