Mrs Andrea Mills

About

I am a Senior Lecturer in in Education specialising in the early years. I am Course Leader for the Early Years Foundation Degree FdA. I also teach on the BA (Hons) Top degrees in Teaching and Learning and Education, Leadership in Practice.

I am a passionate advocate for the early years, who champions this vital phase of education. I come to the role with a wealth of EYFS experience, having worked within the sector for the past three decades, across a variety of roles in a range of sectors both in the UK and Spain. I am an experienced early years class teacher; EYFS coordinator; senior school leader; local authority consultant and university tutor and lecturer at UCL - Institute of Education.

My most recent role before joining the university was as an early years specialist for the leading research charity, the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). My work was focussed on the DfE's early years Covid -19 recovery initiative, linked to the EYFS Stronger Practice Hubs initiative, which aimed to empower practitioners to support one another through formal communities of practice.
